FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The 2010 MMA Raffle Bike Winner is Announced
The Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association (MMA) is pleased to announce that the lucky winner for this year's raffle bike is Steve Winchell of Westborough, Massachusetts. Winning ticket number 0278 for the 2010 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail was drawn by Chairman Dave Condon at the Annual Bike Raffle Party held this year again at the Jockey Club in Raynham, MA.
Chairman Condon contacted Steve and he has agreed to accept the motorcycle. When contacted Steve stated "You must be kidding me, I never win anything." He further stated "This could not come at a better time I am currently riding a much older version of the Heritage Softail and it is such bad shape I can't even get an inspection sticker for it." Chairman Condon stated "Steve is ecstatic and cannot wait to pick the bike up and get back in the saddle. He told me his wife hasn't stopped kidding him since I left the original message on his answering machine." The MMA Board of Directors extends its congratulations to Steve and hope he enjoys riding his new Softail for many years to come.
Steve has agreed to pick the bike up at our First Annual Brian Clark Memorial Ride to be held this Saturday July 24, 2010 in Granby, MA (see www.masmotorcycle.org for more details). The board felt this would be a fitting tribute to Brian, the MMA's long time Board Member and District 4 Manager. Picking this raffle bike out was one of Brian's last official acts for the MMA before his untimely death last October. He will be up there in heaven smiling down on us that day.
The Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association would like to thank John Sullivan and his staff at The Jockey Club for once again hosting our Bike Raffle Party and for their usual generosity and hospitality. We would also like to thank all the members and riders who purchased raffle tickets for our major fundraiser of the year. The money you spend goes entirely towards our mission of representing the best interests of the motorcyclists of this state at the State House and to enhance our safety and educational programs.
Stay tuned to our web site and your e-mails for information on next year's raffle bike giveaway which will be held next July at a location to be determined. Tickets will be available very shortly. Next year's raffle bike will be a brand new 2011 Harley Davidson Road Glide in Sedona Orange.
